Canadian
Medical Graduates:
Canadian Medical Graduates apply to our
programs through the Canadian Medical Matching Service (CaRMS).
Information on the CaRMS application process including program-specific
information can by found on the CaRMS website.

U.S.
Medical Graduates who are Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents may
also apply through CaRMS.
International Medical Graduates:
The
University of Toronto Core Internal Medicine Program encourages
applications from IMGs. Effective 2006, applications to our PGY1 entry
programs from IMGs are accepted via the CaRMS match. IMG
candidates are strongly encouraged to enter assessment through the Centre for
the Evaluation of Health Professionals Educated Abroad (CEHPEA) or
other IMG Assessment Programs.

Internationally
Funded Trainees:
The Faculty of Medicine Postgraduate Medical Education Office (PGMEO),
Faculty of Medicine, has contracts with various governments or governmental
agencies, and all residency training applications from their
citizens must be directed to the PGMEO through the appropriate
sponsoring agency. Applications sent directly to the Department Program
Director, or directly from the applicant to the PGMEO, will not be
